The Diary of a Young Girl

Documented challenge/ban history: A 'definitive edition' with additional passages was removed from some school curricula over content concerns — Read about this book on Wikipedia · News-reported district removals (e.g. Northville, MI 2013)
Some printings of this book were altered: The diary first published in 1947, and translated into English in 1952, was Otto Frank's edited version: passages about Anne's sexuality and some about her family were left out. The Definitive Edition (in English from 1995, translated by Susan Massotty) restored them, adding about 25% more material. The older translation stayed in print afterwards.
